Victims unhappy with sluggish pace of reconstruction process: Survey

Quake victims, who lost their homes, properties and relatives in the earthquake last year, have expressed dissatisfaction with the government's handling of reconstruction process. As per a survey among quake-hit communities, majority of respondents said they were unhappy with the sluggish pace of the reconstruction process and blamed the government of having unclear plans. Nepal Mobile Citizen Helpdesk Year-End Update

Over the past 8 months, the Mobile Citizen Helpdesks team has been working hard to make sure Nepali citizens’ voices are heard and their needs are met during the earthquake relief process. Each month our team of 100+ dedicated, local volunteers surveys 1,400 citizens across Nepal’s 14 “crisis zones”. Nepal Mobile Citizen Helpdesks August Update

The Mobile Citizen Helpdesks (#quakehelpdesk) are coordinated groups of volunteers who are closing information gaps and building feedback loops in the worst-affected areas of post-earthquake Nepal. The Accountability Lab and Local Interventions Group launched the Helpdesks within 24 hours of the first earthquake on April 25th.
