Governments need to build trust

The Country Director of Accountability Lab, Lawrence Yealue has observed that the Government of Liberia is not building trust among the population, something he said is responsible for violation of health protocols announced. “One of the reasons why we see Relight, and Duala market dwellers continue to don’t care for health measures and mandate to observe social distance is due to lack of trust from their government”, he noted. Accountability Lab Launches 2020 Hunt for Integrity Icon

Accountability Lab has launched its 2020 hunt for Liberia's Integrity Icon. The ceremony took place recently in Monrovia. Integrity Icon, previously branded as Integrity Idol, has worked to showcase honest public servants in a country that perennially ranks at the bottom of corruption indices. It was launched in Liberia in 2015 and has so far honored 25 civil servants and public officials for being honest in their duties and helping to transform society. iCampus Launches Liberia Learning Awards 2020

Liberia Learning Awards 2020 has been launched in Monrovia, with more than thirty-five guests in attendance on January 22, 2020. Liberian Hipco stars release Integrity Icon song

Two of the Liberian hipco music scene's biggest names, Amaze Yor and Beat Master, have collaborated with Accountability Lab to produce a song for our flagship Integrity Icon programme in Liberia. The two artists are currently Hipco Accountability Ambassadors who mentor other underground artists to create music for social change. Hipco is a genre of dance music that blends hip-hop, R&B and traditional Liberian music with lyrics in colloquial dialects spoken in Liberia. Access to justice in Liberia (podcast)

Accountability Lab Executive Director Blair Glencorse talks to John Kamma from the Citizens' Bureau about the challenges within the country's desperately under-resourced justice sector.
