We’re very excited to welcome Anusha Yadav as the newest member of the Accountability Lab staff! She will serve as our Communications and Development Manager, based out of our Washington DC headquarters. Her marketing skills, understanding of Nepali social change space, and positive energy are will help us grow and improve at an even faster pace. Read more about her background below, and look out for her contributions to the blog going forward.
In 2004, Anusha’s family moved to the United States like many other Nepalese people who wanted to escape a civil war that was tearing the country apart. In an effort to maintain a link to the country of her origin, she began to travel back every summer to volunteer and intern at various civil society organizations. Those summers combined with her time studying International Relations at Mount Holyoke College, lead her to realize the central role accountability can play in addressing development challenges faced by countries around the world. Following the completion of her undergraduate degree, Anusha moved to Washington D.C. to work for a research and technology consulting firm before she joined the Lab. As the Communications & Development Manager, she manages the Lab’s online presence, helps build and improve internal systems, write and edit grants, proposals and reports, and serves as a representative to build networking relationships for the Lab.
