Nonprofit organizations have seen up to 50% of their budgets affected by USAID stop-work orders, ...and many are still searching for alternative funding sources. But the losses go beyond staff furloughs or organizational closures; they extend to program infrastructure, data, and intellectual assets built over the years.
In response, some organizations are exploring more strategic paths forward. Historically, mergers were designed to increase competitive advantage. Today, they’re emerging as a means to sustain essential work, absorbing and offloading programs that closing organizations can no longer sustain to like-minded nonprofits.
To support this shift, we have joined forces with Digital Public and Development Gateway to create a partnership matching service and professional support infrastructure to help international development organizations navigate funding challenges. We’ve also developed the Civil Society Strategic Partnership Toolkit, which offers hands-on guidance for evaluating options for restructuring or merging, and for preserving key programs, expertise, and impact.

By supporting the development of innovative ideas, we can build and support a network and ...ecosystem of youth in the anti-corruption field.
At the heart of Yilin, Idah, Inesa and Andrew's ideas is meaningful youth involvement in anti-corruption solutions. From gamified learning to anticorruption curricula in schools to ensuring that young people aren't just in the rooms but making decisions there.
The four pitched their innovative solutions at a workshop during Partnerships for Anticorruption Global Forum and received feedback from the workshop attendees.

These aren’t just challenges for the media—they’re challenges for all of us.
In the latest episode of our AccountabiliTea podcast, Co-CEO Cheri-Leigh Erasmus is joined by Danai Nhando, human rights lawyer and social entrepreneur, and Nkosikhona Dibiti, Executive Director of Community Podium and journalist, to unpack the current state of media freedom.
They explore:
Why legal protections often fall short in practice
How financial pressure quietly censors critical voices
The double-edged nature of social media
Why protection networks are essential
The role citizens play in defending press freedom
When journalists are silenced, accountability suffers. When media spaces shrink, so does democracy.
