When ...climate shocks hit home, the crisis becomes personal. In this blog, Momal Nawab, Research Intern at Accountability Lab Pakistan, reflects on the lived impacts of extreme weather from the 2022 floods in Nowshera to the heatwaves and hailstorms of recent years, and the urgent need to rethink agriculture for a warming world.
With over 40% of Pakistan’s labor force dependent on farming, climate change isn’t just an environmental issue; it’s an economic and social one too. Food security, rural livelihoods, and our collective well-being are all at stake.
