For Immediate Release  April 15, 2021 MONROVIA, Liberia –  Accountability Lab Liberia has noted the recommendation of the Supreme Court of Liberia’s Judiciary Inquiry Commission (JIC) concerning Commercial Court Judge Eva Mappy-Morgan. Judge Mappy-Morgan, Associate Professor at the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law at the University of Liberia and President of the National Trial Judges of Liberia, is a long-standing member of AL Liberia’s Board of Directors.  AL Liberia acknowledges the JIC’s recommendation to suspend Judge Mappy-Morgan for one year without benefits, following malpractice allegations filed by the Liberian-owned Ducor Petroleum Company. MONROVIA, Liberia –  Accountability Lab Liberia has noted the recommendation of the Supreme Court of Liberia’s Judiciary Inquiry Commission (JIC) concerning Commercial Court Judge Eva Mappy-Morgan. Judge Mappy-Morgan, Associate Professor at the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law at the University of Liberia and President of the National Trial Judges of Liberia, is a long-standing member of AL Liberia’s Board of Directors. 

AL Liberia acknowledges the JIC’s recommendation to suspend Judge Mappy-Morgan for one year without benefits, following malpractice allegations filed by the Liberian-owned Ducor Petroleum Company. This recommendation remains subject to the approval of the Supreme Court and Judge Mappy-Morgan has reserved the right to take the decision on review. 

She remains a member of the AL Liberia board while the matter is being finalized.
