The Elevator Pitch
The Communications Consultant will help grow the visibility and impact of Civic Strength Partners by creating and sharing clear, compelling content across our website, social media, and media outlets. In this role, you’ll shape blogs, case studies, op-eds, and event outreach that highlight how CSP supports mission-driven organizations through transitions and partnerships. You’ll work closely with our executive team and partners to ensure our voice is consistent and our stories reach the right audiences.
The Work You Get To Do
- Update and maintain CSP’s website with fresh content, ensuring accuracy and alignment with CSP’s voice and goals.
- Write and publish blogs and marketing pieces introducing CSP’s work and sharing project updates.
- Upload blogs, resources, and knowledge products to the website.
- Conduct copyediting and language edits for all content.
- Develop and implement a social media plan for LinkedIn and BlueSky.
- Draft engaging social media copy and coordinate visual assets with a designer.
- Monitor social media analytics and adjust strategy to grow reach and engagement.
- Research, write, and edit case studies that highlight real examples of transitions, mergers, and asset protection in the sector.
- Work with the executive team to draft and pitch op-eds, articles, and commentaries to reputable publications.
- Draft press releases and respond to media inquiries when needed.
- Work with CSP partners and project leads to gather stories, quotes, and approvals.
- Identify and support opportunities for CSP to engage at sector events and webinars.
Must-Have Experience
- A degree in communications, marketing, or a similar field is preferred, or equivalent experience. Candidates from all academic majors are encouraged to apply.
- 4+ years of work experience in digital communications, social media, and/or marketing in a nonprofit organization, private sector company, foundation, or government agency.
- Fluency in English required; fluency in French, Kiswahili, Spanish, or another language is an advantage.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for branded, high-quality, well-designed communications.
- Proven track record of working within a global environment, with global teams; record of inter-organizational collaboration, including being the sole communications expert.
Nice-To-Have
- Visual design skills
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
- Familiarity with WordPress, Mailchimp, and Google Workspace (or equivalents)
- Familiarity with Google Analytics
- Experience implementing an existing communications strategy
- Experience working in international development, data and digital technology, or a related field
Position Details
The initial term of this consultancy will be one year, with an average time commitment expectation of 60 hours per month. The expected hourly rate is $20-$25/hr, depending on relevant experience. The consultant will report directly to Accountability Lab’s Global Director of Communications.
